Care plan questions
Will my clients be charged twice?
No. After the import, confirm once and Tillage sets every imported Stripe subscription to cancel at the end of its current period. Stripe doesn’t charge again, and Tillage bills from the next due date. Until you confirm, the Stripe subscriptions keep running, so do it right after importing.
Do clients have to enter their card again?
No. Imported plans are linked to the card your client already saved in Stripe, and Tillage charges it automatically each month. If a client has several saved cards and no default, Tillage sends the invoice for them to pay instead.
Which subscriptions come over?
Active subscriptions for the customers you match, billed weekly, monthly, quarterly, every six months or yearly. Subscriptions with several products come over as one invoice with a line for each. Running the import again updates what’s already there.
Do Stripe coupons and discounts carry over?
Yes, Tillage brings each coupon over as a discount line on the recurring invoice, so clients pay what they pay in Stripe today. If a discount only runs for a few months, Tillage lists it after the import so you can remove the line when it ends.
Can every client cover the fees?
In most of the US, yes. Connecticut, Massachusetts and Puerto Rico don’t allow card surcharges, so Tillage has your business cover the card fee for clients there. You can also waive fees for any plan.
What happens when a card payment fails?
Tillage tries the card again a day later, then once more two days after that, so a short-lived problem like a low balance doesn’t become a missed month. If it still fails, the invoice stays open for your client to pay.
