Try it free in TillageHow Stripe fees work
Stripe charges a percentage of every payment plus a small flat fee on cards. The fee comes out of the amount your customer pays, so if you invoice your exact rate, you'll always receive a little less than you billed.

The gross-up formula
To receive a specific amount after card fees, divide your target by one minus the percentage, after adding the flat fee:
Example: to receive $1,000 on a card, you'd charge (1000 + 0.30) ÷ 0.971 = $1,030.69. Stripe takes $30.69 and you keep your full $1,000. Doing that by hand on every invoice is tedious — which is exactly why Tillage automates fee pass-through.
Stop calculating. Let Tillage handle it.
Tillage is a free quote-to-cash platform. Turn on fee pass-through and every invoice is automatically grossed up — your client covers Stripe's processing fee (and Tillage's optional 1%) at checkout, and you receive the exact amount you billed. No manual math, no eroded margins.
