Invite your team

Invite colleagues to your Tillage team, choose their role and help them accept.

Invite the people who quote, bill or manage clients with you, so everyone works from the same clients, documents and settings. There’s no charge or limit on team members.

Only owners and admins can invite people.

Send an invitation

  1. Open the team menu at the top of the sidebar and choose Team Members. You can also go to Team Settings → Members.
  2. Click Invite Member.
  3. Enter their Email Address.
  4. Choose a Role:
    • Admin - Full access: can do everything, including team settings, Stripe and inviting others.
    • Member - Custom permissions: works with clients, quotes, contracts and invoices, but can’t change team settings, manage Stripe or invite people. Tick the areas they’ll work in under Permissions.
  5. Click Send Invitation.

Tillage emails them a link to join. The invitation appears under Pending Invitations until they accept, and expires after 7 days.

See Team and permissions for what each role can do.

What your colleague does

  1. They open the invitation link from the email.
  2. If they already have a Tillage account, they log in. If not, they sign up, using the same email address the invitation was sent to.
  3. On Join {team name}, they review their role and click Accept Invitation.

They land on your team’s dashboard. People who join by invitation skip the new-account setup screens.

If the invitation doesn’t work

Message What to do
Invitation Expired Cancel it under Pending Invitations and send a new one.
Email Mismatch They’re logged in with a different email. Log out and log in or sign up with the invited address, or invite the address they use.
Already a Member They’re already on the team. Click Go to Dashboard.
Invalid Invitation The invitation was cancelled or already used. Send a new one.

If they don’t get the email, check their spam folder. You can’t resend an invitation to the same address while one is pending, so cancel it first, then invite them again.

After they join

  • Ask them to set up their Notification preferences from their own row in Team Settings → Members, so they get emails for approved quotes, signed contracts and payments. Notifications are off until each person turns them on.
  • If they’ll sign contracts for your company, ask them to save a signature in Account Settings → Signature. See Signatures.
